Day 2. Tbilisi - Vardzia about 240 km

Today we take the small road connecting Georgia’s East and West. Close to Tbilisi the road towards the Didgori Battle Memorial is certainly one to not forget. Brand new tarmac crossing natural beauty that is simply made for motorcycle riding. The memorial itself was built in remembrance of the Georgian-Seljuk wars. Georgia, being outnumbered, defeated the Seljuk Turks which ignited one of Georgia’s most prosperous eras. The road East to West was a section of the historic Silk Road that crossed these lands. During the trip surroundings change quickly, every 20 kilometers it might appear as if you are in another country. At some point the road rushes on top on the mountain and with these beautiful scenes from above, we head towards Vardzia. Coming from the mountains we pass by Khertvisi Fortress, a place visited by Alexander the Great. After that we arrive in Vardzia - Monastery complex, carved in a rock, XII-XIII Century Georgian picturesque monument and we stay for the night opposite it in a beautiful complex.

3

Day 3. Vardzia - Kutaisi around 230 km

Another region that offers nature totally different from anything we have seen so far. You might feel you travelled between continents today. We ride the paved roads via Borjomi and arrive in Samtskhe-Javakheti. This region is not only famous for its cliffs and natural beauty, it is famed for its numerous cultural and historical treasures as well. The region can be seen as the cultural birthplace of current day Georgia. For the night we arrive in the old capital Kutaisi, which is still an important city in the cultural and historical significance.

4

Day 4. Kutaisi - The region of Ushguli - around 300 km

We take the smaller inner roads of Samegrelo national park to get to one of the most spectacular roads in the whole Caucasus. Because of its remoteness this area kept its identity trough many different political ages of influence and even now keeps their customs and pagan traditions intact throughout time. On the road, old watchtowers will pop-up. Svan families own these towers and in the old days they were used as defense towers as well as to store crops. Svaneti is a truly magical place, the distinct cultural and historical differences make the region fascinating. One of the ‘’Georgian’’ customs the Svans also hold dearly is the love for food. We spent the night at a cozy local place and try to catch some of the region‘s spirit. Since people have been living in Svaneti for such a long time, almost everywhere there is a dusty path taking you up to the most beautiful viewing points.

5

Day 5. Ushguli

А day to relax and walk around mountain tops to chase the views.

6

Day 6. Ushguli - Oni around 200 km.

From Ushguli we drive towards Oni following the Zagari Pass – the endless windy mountain road down with the adorable views over the mountain pass. After we descend from the amazing mountain roads we enter the lower lands. Then we enter Oni - the city in the west of Georgia. Situated on the left bank of Rioni river, in a deep gorge, in the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region. Administrative Center of Oni Municipality.

7

Day 7. Oni - Gori around 160 km

Gori is most famous as the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, the former Soviet leader. The town has a museum dedicated to Stalin, which includes exhibits on his life and the history of the Soviet Union. Apart from the Stalin Museum, Gori also has other historical and cultural sites worth visiting, such as the Gori Fortress, built in the 13th century, and the Uplistsikhe Cave Town, an ancient rock-hewn city located about 10 kilometers (6 miles) east of the town. There is a good chance for us to recoup with the pool, sauna and other comforts with close of the day.

8

Day 8. Gori - Gudauri around 200 km

From Gori we make an amazing run into Kazbegi, a famous mountain region. With peaks over 5000 meter high the views on are just stunning. Mountain passes go up and down as they take you from corner to corner, a true Walhalla for any motorcycle enthusiast. If the road is in a good shape we can ride up to the 14th century Gergeti Trinity Church. One of the most famous landmarks of Georgia. This is not just because of its historical importance but also due to the +5000 meter peak of Mountin Kazbegi on its backdrop. We stay at a comfy place and enjoy an amazing local dinner.

9

Day 9. Gudauri - Akhmeta around 150 km

The mountain road goes along the canyon and passes by Zhinvali Water Reservoir. Also along the way we pass for a short walk to Kvetera Fortress's Church. The views along the way up to the church worth the effort of walk with full gear! For the night we stay at a beautiful hotel with swimming pool and view towards the Tusheti National Park… to watch what stars are predicting for the next adventure… Omalo!

10

Day 10. Akhmeta - the day for the challenges.

This is where our adventurers will have 3 options: ride a bike off-road to Alazani Pass and Omalo, take a 4 wheel drive and enjoy the scenery from the seat of the van… or stay by the pool with some red Georgian wine for company… up to you to decide!
