Day by day schedule:


Day 1. Welcome to Sofia

Arrival in Sofia, the biggest city and the capital of Bulgaria. Transfer from the airport to the hotel. Accommodation in 4*/5* hotel. 18.00 o’clock: brief press conference at the hotel lobby, where the participants will be able to meet each other, to be informed about the focus of the motor tour, to receive the ready pack of documents required for the tour plus a route map. Dinner at the hotel and sleep.The city of Sofia is one of the oldest cities in Europe. In VII-VI BC, the ancient city of Serdika (Serdom polis, Serdonopolis or the ‘city of serdis’) appeared there. The strong influence of the Roman Empire and the location of the settlement determined the future development of Serdika. During the rule of Marcus Ulpius Traianus (98-117) Serdika flourished. It was located on the Roman road of Via Militaris, which is still one of the most important communication links between the West and the East. For more than 140 years, now, Sofia has been the capital of Bulgaria.


Day 2. Sofia - Skopje about 340 km

Breakfast and checkout. The adventure starts at 08.30. Today, we set off to the southwestern part of the country through the mountains of Vitosha and Rila, cross Gyeshevo border checkpoint and enter the territory of North Macedonia. We will ride across the winding roads through the mountains of Osogovo and Ograzhden, we will have a lunch break in the ancient city of Kratovo and will continue to Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. Walking tour in the city centre. Accommodation in 4*/5* hotel and dinner, where everyone will be able to share his impressions from the day that has passed. Sleep.


Day 3. Skopje– Bitola about 250 km with visit of the Matka canyon

Breakfast and checkout. At 08.30, we set off to the fairy Matka canyon situated along the Treska river only 30-minute ride from Skopje. The beautiful canyon is one of the natural phenomena in the Republic of Macedonia and is an attractive place for many tourists, including for all who love rock climbing. It’s a unique enchanting place - a masterpiece of nature surrounded by steep limestone rocks with medieval churches and monasteries hidden amongst them. A boat trip between the vertical rocks with stunning views. Lunch on the territory of Matka complex. After lunch we set off to Bitola. The road passes through the mountain range of Stogovo and the Lake Kozyak. Arriving in Bitola. Accommodation in a boutique hotel with a small winery. Tasting the best wines of the Bitola region. Dinner and sleep.


Day 4. Bitola - Ohrid about 120 km with visit of the ancient monastery of St. Naum

After breakfast and hotel checkout, at 08:30, we set off to the two national parks of Pelister and Galicica and the lakes of Prespa and Ohrid, and after crossing the Horske sedlo pass, we will enjoy the splendid panoramic views of Lake Ohrid, which is the deepest lake on the Balkan Peninsula - 285 meters. It is divided between North Macedonia and Albania. In 1980, the lake and the areas near its banks and the city of Ohrid were declared UNESCO world cultural and natural heritage.Going down the serpent, which resembles the Transalpine road in miniature, we reach to the oldest monastery on the Balkan Peninsula – Saint Naum.Saint Naum Monastery is situated in the south-eastern part of Lake Ohrid, only 30 km away from the city of Ohrid. The monastery dates back from the end of the 9th century, and its founder is the student of St. St. Cyril and Methodius – Saint Naum. During the centuries, the monastery was reconstructed more than once, which resulted to its current unique architecture and look. The monastery keeps the bones and relics of St. Naum. This place is one of the most frequently visited pilgrim destinations in North Macedonia. Walk in the monastery and lunch. Our route continues along the lakeside road to the city of Ohrid. In the evening, we will enjoy the beautiful nature and the sunset at the background of the lake. Accommodation in 4*/5* hotel, dinner and sleep.


Day 5. Ohrid – Mavrovo about 120 km.

Breakfast and hotel checkout. At 08.30, we set out to Samoil’s Fortress. Samoil’s Fortress (Samuilova tvrdina) is one of the major medieval sites of interest in Ohrid rising high above the city, the second one being the lake with the same name. Samoil’s Fortress is a part of a medieval fortress, which enclosed the capital of the First Bulgarian Kingdom Ohrid. After walking around the fortress, we will set off to the northern part of the lake to the town of Struga. Lunch. Our route continues to the ski resort of Mavrovo, through the national park and the lake of Mavrovo. Accommodation in 4*/5* hotel, dinner and sleep.


Day 6. Mavrovo-Sofia about 350 km.

Breakfast and hotel checkout at 08:30. This is the final day of our tour. We set off to Sofia and will ride along the highway but the ride will not be boring at all because we will have magnificent views to the mountain systems and ridges. Lunch.Our tour ends in Sofia, where we will stay in a hotel to enjoy our final dinner and you will be able to share your impressions and pictures with the other participants in the tour and with KHL Mototravel!


Day 7. Goodbye Sofia

Breakfast, checkout and transfer to Sofia airport.
